Technology Explorations 

Engaging lessons and interactive activities that immerse students in the world of technology. Experiences are offered to students in grades 3-5 and are designed based on grade level state standards. Technology Explorations will be offered beginning in January 2022.

Pioneer Times: Needs/Wants

Do your students have what it takes to live like pioneers? Students will learn to compare needs versus wants and apply that knowledge in team-based, hands-on activities where they must decide what items they would take in a covered wagon if they lived on the frontier in the 1800s.

Pioneer Times: Toys Long Ago and Now

How did children entertain themselves before the Internet?  In this field trip, students will compare the life of pioneer children to their life today. They’ll also engage in pioneer-themed activities and create a cup and ball craft to take home.

Computer Science: Robotic Friends
Turn your classmates into robotic friends. In this field trips, students will program their classmates with events and algorithms. If the robot does not understand a command, students will debug the program and correct errors to get the desired result. All activities are unplugged and can be completed without computers.
